About the Artist

George Taylor

My interest for art began in elementary school, encouraged by my mother. During my senior year of high school, I painted my first watercolor—only to throw it away. My mother, however, saw something I didn’t. She retrieved it from the trash, had my father frame it, and that painting now hangs in my studio. I started my college journey as an art major at the University of Alabama and went on to graduate with a degree in commerce in 1969.
